★ 5.0Yes, I know everyone has seen it now. I was there in 2019 being insufferable about it in a tiny theater and I have earned the right to keep talking about it. The house is the entire class system rendered as architecture, every staircase a full sentence about who gets to go up and who is sent back down. The smell line is the cruelest thing in the film and it is delivered as nothing more than a look across a car seat. Bong knows exactly what he is doing in every single frame and it makes me a little sick with admiration. I will stop now. I will not actually stop.
